About The Friends

Our Purpose

- To promote and raise funds for the timely restoration and preservation of the dam at Hope Mills Lake, located in Hope Mills, North Carolina.

- To provide continued community support for recreational activities at Hope Mills Lake and the adjacent Town Park to possibly include but  not limited to:

- To assist with the repairs and maintenance of the boat landing and public docks and pier.

- To assist with the maintenance and upgrades of the Park's playground equipment.

- To assist with the cost of restocking the fish in the Lake from time to time.  Assist the State and Town with costs of preserving wildlife in and around the Lake.

- To develop either annual or semi-annual events such as a festival to celebrate the Lakes and what it has meant to the history of Hope Mills.

- To assist in monitoring and preserving the environmental soundness of the waters in Hope Mills Lake and the immediate areas of the Rockfish Creek, and consultation with the Town , the State and independent consultants as needed.

- To assist in the historical documentation of the Lake and the Town of Hope Mills.

The Corporation, which is organized under the Non-Profit Corporation Act of North Carolina, shall operate exclusively for charitable purposes and in a manner consistent with Chapter 55A of the General Statutes of North Carolina and Section 501(c)(3) or successor provisions of the Internal Revenue Code.
